Our Team
Nebraska Blades is family owned and operated, with few employees.

Robert Schiessl is the owner of the company. He started Nebraska Blades in 1985 as a sharpener. After using many machines, he found a machine he loved, made by Tippy Tipton. Robert started selling the machine and eventually bought the rights to it, made some changes and began manufacturing it. He knows just about all there is no know about clipper sharpening and is a go-to man for many people. He has given countless classes and presentations on the topic. Respected in his field, he carries himself and runs his business on a foundation of integrity and honesty.

Theresa Schiessl, Robert's daughter, has worked for Nebraska Blades since 2000, but also spent considerable time learning about blade sharpening as a child. She runs the office and most all of the day-to-day business, handling all orders and shipping and providing technical support by phone and email every day. Chances are that when you call, you'll talk to her. She has a wealth of knowledge on sharpening and sales that she learned from her father via osmosis more than anything. Her interest started as a young child watching her dad sharpen.

Linda Schiessl, Robert's wife, work's part-time with Nebraska Blades, taking care of bookwork and some orders. Linda provided key assistance to Robert in the beginning stages of the business and continues to support him to this day. Raising children and taking care of her family is the pride of her life.

Andrew Schiessl, Robert's son, works part-time as a delivery person. He is the youngest male, which makes him the “muscle” of the company.

Julie Kemper is the only non-family employee. She is our knife sharpener and does a wonderful job! With a keen eye for detail and consistency, she is the best knife sharpener we have ever had.

Sadie, the office dog is our cheer! She's never too far from Robert. She sits behind us at our desks, sometimes sits ON the desk, and also alerts us when we have someone new in our shop! It is not unheard of to hear a dog barking in the background when you call.
